Thank you to all those who responded to our question about local post boxes. This confirms that most local post boxes are only being collected once a day, usually by 9.30am. The last collection time for local post offices is about 5.00pm, and the only later collections are from sorting offices. The Post Office claims to have put notification on the boxes but no one mentioned seeing it ! ………………………………………………………… The week before last, Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) held a Local Business Forum for local businesses and organisations. It was a successful event, the attendance was excellent and most people expressed support for regular meetings. Hertfordshire Liberal Democrats produce an “Alternative Herts County Council Annual Report”

At the last Hertfordshire County Council Meeting the Conservative Majority Group presented the customary Annual Report that they had asked council officers to produce. If you'd like to see just how Hertfordshire County Council views it's performance, you can take a look at their published Annual Report for 2014-15 on the County Council's website. The report reviews expenditure and illustrates just how much the Conservative-led council is reducing spending.

Big City Blues? Or Cheap and Cheerful Motoring? Parisians Now Have Nearly 4 Years Experience with Bluecars

Paris has recently had two periods in August with exceptional temperatures. August 1998 and 2003. In the summer, Paris is usually a little bit warmer than London but in those year Parisians got more than they bargained for with temperatures over 40 deg centigrade. That was bad enough, but the combination of the heat and the strong sunlight produzed high levels of ozone which reacted with gases from motor vehicle exhausts to produce an acrid and irritating atmoshere.
