The footbridge over Hemel Hempstead's St Albans Road is high and there have been complaints from residents for a number of years that the elderly and those with mobility problems find the bridge difficult to use.
The Conservatives running Herts County Council pushed through a cut of over 11% from the local highways budget of £90,000. This £90,000 was allocated to County Councillors to get local roads and pavements resurfaced that the County would not otherwise do. It's now been cut.
65 photovoltaic solar panels were installed on the roof of Three Rivers House at the end of last year . Several residents have asked County Councillor Ron Tindall to look at making the crossing of St Ablans Road safer and easier for people who can't easily manage to climb the footbridge over the road.
