Wilstone and Long Marston Rural Broadband Rollout

There is understandable impatience to the late introduction of broadband to the rural parts of the UK. Two months ago local Liberal Democrat county councillor, Nick Hollinghurst, was at a meeting when Microsoft's UK Director of Media & Communication referred to the "Great British Broadband Problem". However a massive extension programme costing nearly £2 billion and with funding shared between the government, the EU, industry and local authorities continues to make progress in providing connections free of charge to the householder.

The Planning Permission for the replacement buildings to accommodate Bury Lake Young Mariners and to provide new, up to date facilities at the Aquadrome has been granted.………………………………………………………. We are delighted that Sport England has decided to invest £150K in BLYM.This investment will benefit young people today and in the future. It will go towards the reconstruction and enlargement of the facilities . Improvements include the redesigning of the club house, boat storage, the workshop and new jetties. ……………………………………………………….. Rickmansworth School Pool is still closed for building works so it will not be available for community use at half term. But William Penn pool is open and available. ………………………………………………………………………….. Cancelled Event - The Rickmansworth Music Society concert at 1.05pm at the Baptist Church on 26th October has been cancelled because the solo tenor is ill and a replacement could not be found at such short notice.
