On Wednesday 15th November 15th, the Hemel Hempstead Branch of the Liberal Democrats was delighted and privileged to host a talk delivered by Liberal Democrat Peer Baroness Joan Walmsley. Baroness Walmsley is deputy leader of the 100-strong Lib Dem Peers in the Lords.
Yesterday the Herts Valleys CCG made the appalling announcement that they had confirmed their previous decision to withdraw their £600,000 annual support for Nascot Lawn children's respite care home. Cynically they claim their decision was taken because the County Council had failed to engage with them in looking for a workable way forward, when it has been their failure to engage from the outset that has caused this dreadful situation to occur.
In keeping with the rest of Dacorum, Tring is going to have to accept more houses. The two most important documents in the Local Development Framework for Dacorum have now been approved by the Planning Inspector and adopted by Dacorum Borough Council (DBC). The Core Stategy was adopted by them in September 2013 and the Site Allocations were adopted in July 2017. DBC's Local Development Framework is to run until 2031.
At the AGM of Hemel Liberal Democrats, party president, Geoff Lawrence, awarded Cllr Adrian England the annual President's Award for being a fantastic example of what a Liberal Democrat councillor and campaigner should be.
