Volunteers at Windmill Rd allotments October 2020

What a transformation already! From 2.5m brambles to a 90x18 metre blank-page for Adeyfield Allotmenteers!

Cllr Adrian England led volunteers to dig for victory, after Dacorum's Clean, Safe and Green cleared the heavy bulk!

The allotments were overgrown and neglected, with thirteen plots having dwindled to just two; but now there are FOURTEEN new plot-holders, with a mix of rookies and experienced "Dons" and "Dymocks".

FEB 2020: Taking On Dennis

Councillors from Boxmoor and Adeyfield hopped across the borders to sweep away the storm water gathered in Highfield Community Centre Carpark.

Cllrs Adrian England and William Allen joined volunteers to make waves with Cllr Sammy Barry

The carpark has been having issues for some time due to flooding. The drain under the carpark is likely collapsed. Our Community Centre is well used by people of all ages and the carpark is a hazard.

Those drains need fixing, in the meanwhile we've put in a short term fix...

Jan 2020: The Great Clean-Up!

Boxmoor TidyFollowing two Neighbourhood Action Group meetings the Boxmoor Councillors Liz Uttely, Claire Hobson, William Allen, set up a Facebook presence encouraging regular feedback from Boxmoor residents. Through this they advertised a plan to clean up Boxmoor!

They started with some light gardening on Fishery Passage and St Johns Road along with a willing tree surgeon (pro bono!) and 14 fantatsic volunteers. A couple of hours of litter picking and weeding later they all got a well earned cuppa. It was a great morning and really showed what communities can do when they get together.

With Council funding overstretched, it is brilliant that our community stepped up and Boxmoor Councillors are planning another cleanup on Saturday 7th March from 10am til noon. Litter pickers meet outside Hemel Sports Centre, weeders outside Boxmoor Framers. All welcome!
