Ron was elected as a County Councillor in 2009 and has represented the people of Western Adeyfield and Highfield ever since. In 2013 he also became the Borough Councillor for Adeyfield West taking the seat from the Conservatives in a by-election.

what is your motivation for wanting to stand again for election?

I still get satisfaction from helping neighbours and local residents with their problems and having a sense of achievement when we succeed in making improvements.

who or what inspired you to stand for public office?

My father was a Councillor in London and I first stood for election in 1974, winning in 1983 at the third attempt.

what skills and/or experience can you bring to the Council if elected?

Specialist knowledge of solving employees' issues, and a growing awareness of what is needed to put right our broken Health and Social Care system. We do not need out-of-date ideology but an understanding of what needs to be fixed and how that can be achieved. Also, my early experiences followed by seven years as a county councillor have given me extensive experience of our local government world.
