2016 Adeyfield West By-election

Adrian England won the Adeyfield West by election on 29th September taking the seat off the Conservatives. The Liberal Democrats gain means they now have four Dacorum Councillors (Adrian England, Brenda Link, Ron Tindall & Roxanne Ransley) to Labour's two.

  • Result: Adrian England (Liberal Democrats) 520 49% up 24%; Conservatives 233 22% down 5%; Labour 166 16% down 8%; UKIP 11% down 13%; Greens 2%

2015 Dacorum Council Elections

Cllrs Brenda Link (Higfield) & Ron Tindall (Adeyfield West) have been re-elected as Borough Councillors. The Liberal Democrats remain the official opposition to the Tories on the Council with three Councillors compared to two for Labour.

  • Adeyfield West - Lib Dem hold one, Tories hold one - Con 763 & 706; Lib Dem 715 & 463; Lab 696 & 450; UKIP 672
  • Highfield - Lib Dems hold one, Labour gain one - Lab 706; Lib Dem 684 & 448; Con 568 & 561; UKIP 632; Green 230
  • Tring Central - Lib Dems hold one, Tories gain one - Con 1344 & 1071; Lib Dem 1083 & 1033; Green 444 (no Labour candidats)

2013 Hertfordshire Council Elections

Cllrs Ron Tindall (Hemel St Paul's) & Nick Hollinghurust (Tring) retained their County Council seats, Labour yet again won nothing in Hemel Hempstead or Dacorum.

  • Hemel Hempstead St Paul's (Highfield & Western Adeyfield) - Lib Dem Hold - Lib Dem 33%; Con 24%; Lab 21%; UKIP 20%; Green 2%
  • Tring - Lib Dem Hold - Lib Dem 50%; Con 24%; UKIP 18%; Lab 8%

2013 Dacorum Council By-Election

Hemel Hempstead Liberal Democrats candidate, Ron Tindall, gained a seat from Labour in the Adeyfield West by-election on 21st March.

  • Adeyfield West - Lib Dem Gain from Labour (seat now 1 Lib Dem, 1 Con) - Lib Dem 33%; Lab 25%; Con 20%; UKIP 17%; EngD 5%

2011 Dacorum Council Elections

Hemel Hempstead Liberal Democrats kept their two seats in Highfield ward, across Dacorum the Lib Dems held all six seats while Labour lost two and gained one.

  • Aldbury & Wigginton - 1 Lib Dem (Lib Dem hold 2010 by-election gain) - Lib Dem 53%; Con 40%; Lab 7%
  • Highfield - 2 Lib Dems Lloyd Harris & Brenda Link - Lib Dem 42%; Lab 33%; Con 24% (Lib Dem hold)
  • Tring Central - 2 Lib Dems (Lib Dem hold) - Lib Dem 50%; Con 40%; Lab 10%
  • Tring West & Rural - 1 Lib Dem & 1 Con (Lib Dem / Con hold) - Lib Dem 47%; Con 43%; Lab 10%

2010 General Election

Hemel Hempstead Liberal Democrats increased their share of the vote for the third general election in a row. Dr Richard Grayson increased the Lib Dem vote by 6% and overtook Labour taking the Lib Dems into 2nd place.

Result: Con 50%; Lib Dem 23% +6%; Labour 21% -19%; BNP 3% (lost deposit); UKIP 3% (lost deposit); Independent 1% (lost deposit)

2010 Adeyfield West by-election

In the by-election in Adeyfield West the Lib Dems were the only major party to increase both their total votes and their share of the vote. Labour & the Tories both went down.

Result: Con Hold - Con 486 33% (-9%); Lab 429 29% (-13%); Lib Dem 362 24.5% (+8%); BNP 203 14%

2009 County Council Elections

Liberal Democrats won Hemel St Paul's from Labour with 1,134 votes to Labour's 563

the Conservatives were 2nd on 34%, Labour 3rd on 17%.

The Lib Dems also came 2nd in four other seats, Bridgewater, Hemel East, Hemel Town & Kings Langley

Across the parliamentry seat the Lib Dems came 2nd with approximately 5,100 votes & Labour 3rd with about 4,600 votes (votes adjusted to fit the constituency boundary)

2009 European Elections

In the European Elections the Liberal Democrats forced Labour into 4th place.

The Dacorum results were:

Con 15,152; Ukip 6,837; LIB DEM 6,310; Labour 4,572; Grn 3,586; BNP 2,238; Others 3,896
