Commenting on today's two minute silence at the Remembrance ceremony in Hemel Hempstead's Marlowes today, Dr Richard Grayson, who attended the event, said:
"In 1919, when the two minute silence was first held on at 11am on 11th November, there were reports of a 'deafening silence' across the UK. Apart from the occasional sound of tiny children, which nobody minds, it was like that in Hemel today as a large crowd paid their respects to the fallen of past wars, and those who continue to lose their lives in Afghanistan."
